With just one week to go until publication, The Last Vigilant is receiving some excellent buzz. I’m taken aback by how well the advance copies have been received, and I’m really looking forward to the book finally being unleashed upon an unsuspecting world.

The Last Vigilant recently received a starred review on Booklist, which absolutely blew me away:

“Latham (The Red Tower, 2018) uses his incredible world-building skills and all-consuming storytelling style to bring the reader deep into the village of Scarfell, where politics, magic, and corruption collide in a world-shaking explosion, and where Enelda is not the only legend to emerge from the shadows. In a genre where tropes can be overused, Latham is an adept at creating sympathetic characters and reinventing fantasy in a way that will have influence on many books after The Last Vigilant.”

Wowsers! Now there’s a quote…

I’ll be doing a few events and promos over the coming weeks, so do keep an eye on my socials. In the meantime, check out this sneak preview of the audiobook, read by the wonderful Saskia Maarveld, and released by Hachette Audio! And if you want dibs on a signed, limited edition hardback, you’d better get over to the Broken Binding quickly before they’re all gone!
